Siqi Mou has been a beauty enthusiast since a young age but is frustrated at the way skincare products are consumed. The industry is extremely opaque and many consumers cannot correctly identify their skin types and differentiate products. She felt the need to introduce technology and personalized solution to the beauty industry. Previously, Siqi was a financial news anchor at Bloomberg TV where she curated and broadcasted market news to a global audience. She also worked at the Fed in New York on capital market regulation. Prior to graduate school, Siqi worked at Morgan Stanley New York where she was responsible for institutional sales and portfolio construction with major central banks and sovereign wealth funds globally. Siqi is also a concert pianist for 20+ years. She served as the principal pianist for the Stanford Symphony Orchestra for four years, and is a Music Ambassador for the Carnegie Hall in New York. Siqi received her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, her MPA from Harvard Kennedy School and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University, where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa.
Lian Mack, MD is a board certified dermatologist committed to excellence in comprehensive dermatological care. She holds a special interest in skin conditions as it applies to skin of color, as well as all aspects of aesthetic enhancements including neurotoxins, injectable fillers, and laser treatments.
Dr. Mack graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University, Columbia College in the City of New York. She continued her postgraduate studies at Weill Cornell Medical College, during which she did a one-year research fellowship in melanoma research at the NYU School of Medicine. After a one-year internship at New York Hospital, she went on to complete her residency in Dermatology at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center where she served as Chief resident during her final year. Prior to GlamDerm, Dr. Mack worked in Chelsea alongside her mentor Dr. Michael Eidelman. Currently, she volunteers as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Mack has authored numerous peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of several professional societies including the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Skin of Color Society, and has actively served as a member and on the board of the Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Kailu Guan is a multi-disciplinary system thinker with design and technology savvy. Her design and research are a combination of fashion design, human-centered design, augmented reality, and wearable technology. Kailu graduated from Parsons and Central Saint Martins College of Arts. She is the creative mind behind KG projects, where fashion and AR meet seamlessly.
Kailu won industry recognition when she was selected as one of the fifty global CFDA+ Design Graduates, innovator in residence at the XRC Labs and the finalist of Eyes on Talents awards. She was chosen to display her work at exhibitions and conferences within both technology and fashion industries around the world, such as Tech Crunch Disrupt New York, Le Révélateur D’innovation in Paris, Talent! at the New York Textile Month, NYC Media Lab, Hacking Arts at MIT Media Lab, and more. KG projects was covered by publications such as Vogue Italia, Dezeen, WWD, Fashionista, Viewpoint, Computer Arts, just to name a few.
Previously, Kailu had worked at IDEO CoLab on artificial intelligence projects, which led her way to HelloAva. Also, she worked as consultant for Hermès, Intel, Mastercard and Panasonic on wearable technology and business strategy. Kailu was awarded to work at Uniqlo Headquarters in Tokyo, the CFDA and Jason Wu when she was at Parsons.
Bob Caslin has passion for delivering products and services that enable an individual to be the best version of themselves. He brings more than twenty years of experience as a manager, entrepreneur, and developer of great technology. Prior to Helloava, Bob was the Director of Mobile Platform and Partner Integration for Linkable Networks where he was the seventh employee. Prior to Linkable Networks, he held senior technical roles at Idiom Technologies, Performix Technologies, Asymmetry, and CareInsite.
